How to Store Caviar?
Can I freeze Caviar?
Black Sturgeon Caviar should never be frozen. However, if you are looking to freeze non-sturgeon roe, you are able to. By putting the delicate pearls in the freezer you’re increasing its shelf-life yet sacrificing the quality. Once thawed Black Sturgeon Caviar will have a softer texture with a diminishing flavor.
How Long does opened Caviar last in the refrigerator?
Once you receive your shipment of caviar, an un-opened vacuum tin can last up to 6 weeks in the refrigerator. Once you open that tin, you have about 5-7 days to consume the rest of the caviar before it starts to give off smell and flavor.
How Long does an unopened tin of Caviar last in the Refrigerator?
If you have just purchased your Caviar, but are not planning to consume it right away, you can store it for about 4 to 6 weeks time in the refrigerator. At times, Caviars may be left for longer periods of time if stored correctly, but it will affect the quality of the roe and cause it to go bad.
Serving Caviar
STUR Caviar may be served in numerous ways to one’s liking! A traditional way to serve caviar would be atop a blini with a dollop of creme fraiche or alongside a sip of vodka or champagne. Caviar pairs seamlessly with almost anything that can use a touch of brine. We suggest serving your caviar using a mother of pearl spoon to ensure ideal flavor. Using a metal spoon to serve caviar may result in an unsavory, metallic flavor. Always keep caviar over ice when serving.
